Google TV for 2011 in Europe

Eric Schmidt said yesterday during his keynote at IFA, Google TV will be available in Europe next year (2011), unlike the U.S. where the first aircraft equipped (in beta) will arrive later this year . For now, only Logitech ( Logitech Journal ) and Sony ( Internet TV and Blu-Ray) announced products, but Samsung and LG would also be on hand to integrate the Google service. Stay tuned.

Samsung definitely still very active, has announced its new ARM processor, the Samsung Orion, which is a Cortex A9 running at 1 GHz and with two hearts. For comparison, the processor A4 Apple (iPad, 4 iPhone, iPod touch, 4) and MRA of Galaxy and Galaxy Tab S are based on a Cortex A8 with one heart.

Rumour: Android for web-connected HDTVs Say Samsung

Samsung are considering using Android as the OS for a future HDTV range that could access streaming movies, TV shows and gaming content, according to Yoon Boo Keun, head of the company’s TV business. ”We will have to see, but we are reviewing [Android]” the executive told reporters after a next-gen TV forum held in South Korea; he also confirmed that Samsung is developing its own platform which could be used on both TVs and phones.

Samsung unveils NX100 Official Press Shots

Samsung’s newest edition to their micro-four-thirds line-up, the NX100, is still unannounced (but previously teased, but that’s not stopping some folks from revealing the official press shots of the device ahead of any kind of announcement. No surprise here, though, right? It’s almost impossible to keep a secret ahead of an official announcement, after all. And while the photos are indeed drool-worthy, there’s still plenty of information missing about the upcoming camera.

IFA 2010 threw up a few new exciting bits of kit, such as the Samsung Galaxy Tab, but it’s at the mid-range of the market that some interesting gadgets were to be found.Samsung told TechRadar that it was planning a budget Android QWERTY-slider in 2010, and while it wouldn’t give the name, as coincidence would have it the Samsung Galaxy i5510 appeared on Vodafone Germany’s stand.
