We labeled the whole Nexus One saga a “grand experiment” by Google. It was a unique test to see if a manufacturer (well, Google didn’t really manufacture the Nexus One, but I digress) could sell phones direct to customers unlocked. It was the best Android phone at the time and it was shipping with the stock Android UI as more and more manufacturers were going with their own UIs.

We have talked about the Android-powered tablet from India that is supposed to be $35 before when it was first unveiled. That dirt cheap tablet has been given a launch date and the official name of the product is Sakshat apparently. Try as I might, I can’t help but point out the fact that the name sounds like sack o’ sh*t, which is perhaps not the best moniker. Imagine trying to tell your friends about this thing, “Dude check out my new tablet, it’s the Sakshat.” The friend would go, “The sack of what?”

HP’s Photosmart eStation C510 printer is indeed the rumored Android-based Zeus/Zeen printer/tablet combo according to HP product documentation supplied to Engadget. Tipped last month, the pairing will consist of the Zeen tablet – a capacitive touchscreen slate running Android 2.1 with a custom HP skin on top – and the Zeus printer; alone, the printer will have basic functionality like most HP models, but when the Zeen tablet is docked it will enable web-centric functionality such as internet printing, Barnes & Noble NOOK ebookstore access and more.
